Napo cuenta con bellezas naturales como las Termas de Papallacta

y su hermosa laguna. Esta provincia es famosa por sus ríos, en los

que se pueden practicar deportes como el kayak o rafting. Cerca

de su capital, el Tena, se encuentran las cavernas de Jumandi (con

sus estalactitas y estalagmitas), reservas como Talag (llena de

cascadas y pozas en los ríos y una inmensa variedad de orquídeas)

y Jatun Sach, donde podemos apreciar la importancia y belleza del

bosque.

Esta provincia tiene una extensión de 13.294.8 kilómetros

cuadrados. Posee un clima templado permanentemente húmedo

(90%) y tropical lluvioso con 25°C. De su gastronomía se destaca

la chicha de chonta y yuca, el mayto de pescado, chontaduro y

palmito.

Famosa por sus ríos Napo, Anzu y Jatunyacu, cuenta con 5

cantones: Tena, Archidona, Carlos Julio Arosemena Tola, El Chaco

y Quijos. Sus principales atractivos turísticos son: la Cascada San

Rafael, las Termas y Lagunas de Papallacta, el Puerto Misahuallí,

las Cavernas Jumandy, el Parque la Isla y el Río Jatunyacu. En esta

provincia también se practica el turismo comunitario, dentro de la

Red Ricancie (10 comunidades).

Las áreas naturales que alberga son: la Reserva de la Biosfera Gran

Sumaco, el Parque Nacional Cayambe-Coca, el Parque Nacional

Sumaco Napo-Galeras y el Parque Nacional Llanganates. Las

nacionalidades que habitan su territorio son Waorani y Kichwa

Napo, with hot springs at Papallacta and a beautiful lake, is famous

for its rivers, ideal for sports like kayaking or rafting. Close to its capital,

Tena, there are the wonderful caves of Jumandi, with stalactites and

stalagmites, reserves such as Talag, replete with waterfalls, river pools,

and an immense variety of orchids, and Jatun Sacha where we can

appreciate the importance and beauty of the tropical forest.

This province has an area of 13.294.8 square kilometers. It has mild

climate that is constantly humid (90%) and tropical rainy with 25°C.

Regarding its gastronomy they have the popular drink chicha de

chonta y yuca, the mayto made with fish, chontaduro and palmito.

Famous for the rivers Napo, Anzu and Jatunyacu, it has 5 cantons:

Tena, Archidona, Carlos Julio Arosemena Tola, El Chaco and Quijos.

Their main attractions are: the San Rafael waterfall, the termal

springs and the lagoons of Papallacta, Port Misahuallí, and the caves

at Jumandy, the Park, the island and the Jatunyacu River. In this

province there is also community tourism within the Ricancie network

(10 communities).

The natural areas are: the Biosphere Reserve of Gran Sumaco, the

Cayambe-Coca National Park, the Sumaco Napo-Galeras National

Park and the Llanganates National Park.

The Nationalities that live in this area are: the Waorani and the

Kichwas.
