For people looking to travel in style within Earth’s
orbit, there’s Citadel Completions, which outfits
custom luxury interiors of large aircraft. Created and
financed by Las Vegas entrepreneur and businessman
Sheldon Adelson and his family, Citadel celebrated
its first birthday in March. “Last year it was me and
a laptop,” says managing director Joe Bonita. “Now
we’re at 110 employees, we’ve delivered three air-
planes, working on one more. It’s a unique opportunity
to grow this VIP venture in an area that’s really
supportive to building business success.”
When many people think of Louisiana, they
think of New Orleans—and many view it as party-
central, conjuring images of revelry in the streets
and beads flung from balconies. There is all that,
of course, and it’s glorious in its own right. But
it’s just part of a larger pastiche of uniquely
appealing food, music, and culture. And the
vibe there has grown more family-oriented in
the years of rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina.
Homes.com recently named New Orleans
the No. 6 most family-friendly major city in
America, and Disney Cruise Line will begin sailing from
the Port of New Orleans in early 2020.
The city as a whole has undergone a transformation.
Advanced manufacturing is thriving on the outskirts
of the city, and millennials have flocked to downtown.
(Could it be a coincidence that the customary abbrevia-
tion for the city, N.O., is being supplanted by a trendier
new nickname, NOLA?)
In 2017, Software.org named New Orleans’ software
LOUISIANA’S GLOBAL
