SIBLING RIVALRY
Parenting is a difficult and complicated job. Admit it—it’s a lot
harder than you imagined it would be before you had kids! Once
our little ones showed up in our house, there they were—period.
No escape and no going out without getting a babysitter.
Before we had children, my husband and I imagined the
warm, fuzzy, peaceful, and affectionate times we would have
with our family—and we did get to enjoy plenty of those
moments. But after several years of parenting experience, we
quickly learned that we also had to manage whining, teasing,
tantrums, messiness, and stubbornness.
And we found out that managing two kids is a lot harder than
one. Sibling rivalry is chronic, and it’s one of the most
aggravating things parents have to deal with. Managing and
minimizing kids’ fighting is part of Parenting Job 1.
