beginning.
Also, don’t assume your toddler will regress in the form of
accidents. Some kids react to a major change in other ways. In the
case of a new sibling, they might act out by hitting the new baby,
biting you, or ignoring the newcomer entirely. Some kids will have
no reaction whatsoever. We’ll discuss more specifics in chapter 19,
“Random Tips and Questions.”
Those are the biggest myths and misconceptions. Most of them,
unfortunately, are heard and repeated a lot. When you really think
them through, though, they have little validity. So now, my
friends . . . on to some mental preparation.
