Allah declared:I has
“ They were enjoinedonly to worship Allah
... and to establishthe Salah and the
Zakat. Such is theupright religion.”
“Let not those whoare miserly with what
Allah has given themof His bounty think
that this is good forthem. Rather, it is
bad for them. Thatwhich they withhold
shall be hung (blaz-ing) around their
necks on the Day ofArising.”
Hadith
Our beloved ProphetMuhammad esaid:
“Whoever is givenwealth by Allah and
does not pay theZakah due thereupon
shall find that on theDay of Arising it is
made to appear tohim as a hairless
snake with two blackspecks, which chains
him, and then seizeshim by his jaw and
says, ‘I am yourwealth! I am your
treasure!”
“The generous one isclose to Allah, close
to Paradise, close tothe people and away
from Hell, whereasthe miserly one is
away from Allah,away from Paradise
and away from thepeople but certainly
close to Hell.”
