Taxiway Centerline Lighting System
A taxiway centerline lighting system consists of unidirectional or bidirectional in-
pavement lights installed parallel to the centerline of the taxiway.
- Color
Color- Coding Taxiway centerline lights are green except in areas where the taxiway
intersects with a runway, where the green and yellow lights are placed alternatively
(beginning with a green light).
- Longitudinal and Lateral Spacing
- The lights are spaced longitudinally per Table 10 - 5 for minimum authorized operations
above and below 1,200 ft (365 m) RVR. - Light fixtures should be installed so that the nearest edge is approximately (0.6 m)
from any pavement joint - Displace centerline lights laterally a maximum of (0.7 m) from the taxiway centerline,
to avoid rigid pavement joints and to ease painting the taxiway centerline marking.
