Palestine International Airport (Al-Auja)

(Noor Al-Dian Rabaya) #1

10.3.2 Taxiway Designations

  • Use letters of the alphabet for designating taxiways. For optimization purposes, start
taxiway designation at one end of the airport and continue to the opposite end, eg,
west to east or north to south.

  • Entrance and exit taxiways that connect a runway to a parallel taxiway are using
alphanumeric designations ("Al", “A2", “A3", etc.); designated by the letter of the
main parallel taxiway from which they spur, followed by a numeric sequence.

    • Types of Taxiway Signs
1 - Mandatory Instruction Signs, have a white inscription with a black outline
on a red background. They denote taxiway/runway intersections,
runway/runway intersections, Instrument Landing System (ILS) critical areas,
runway approach/departure areas, military landing zones, and no entry areas.
As shown in Figure 10- 26.
