12.2 SWOT Analysis:


SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats It is an analysis of
the strengths and weaknesses of each of the proposed sites, according to the instructions of
ICAO.


Strength Points:

- Level and flat Terrain
- Good ground Access
- Suitable soil conditions
- High potential for future expansion
- Land owned by Palestinian Authority
- The limited negative social and environmental impacts


Weakness Points:


  • A small part of the area is classified as high-value agricultural areas. This point is
    discussed, and solutions are suggested in section 5.2.3.


SWOT analysis was carried out for the three sites proposed for Palestine Airport by Road
and Transportation Master Plan, is Al- Auja Airport (North of Jericho), Puki'ah Airport
(South of Jericho), and Qalandia Airport.
