Palestine International Airport (Al-Auja)

(Noor Al-Dian Rabaya) #1

CHAPTER 2 Methodology

This chapter represents the approach that will be followed to achieve the design of
the airside of Al-Auja International Airport.

2.1 Literature Review

Follow-up and analysis of previous studies, researches, and master plans for many airports
in many countries around the world, to get benefits from previous experiences in analyzing
information and forecasting the future demand needed for the design.

2.2 Data Collection

Despite the difficulty of collecting data during the COVID-19 Pandemic, all-out efforts
were exerted to collect data, whether through direct visits to official institutions, when
possible, or by international calls, emails, Fax, and official websites.

The following steps are performed during the data collection process:

1 - The team contacted several Palestinian ministries to obtain needed data, including
the Ministry of Local Government, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the
Palestinian Meteorology Department, the Crossings and Borders Authority, the
Civil Aviation Authority, and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

2 - Collect more data from two Jordanian sources, including the Ministry of Tourism
and Antiquities, and the Jordanian Central Bureau of Statistics.

3 - Collect all data related to the study area from websites like Geomolg, Palestine's
Road and Transportation Master Plan, as well as Google Maps.
