To design the pavement layers for the airport, whether, for the runways, taxiway system,
or apron area, an accurate soil test is needed to assess the site and plan for the structure
for the pavements. The CBR was obtained from Al- Sahwah Contracting Company as
shown in Figure 3-2.

Note: The CBR value formed for a recent project for a nearby road in Al-Auja village, is
used on the assumption that all the airport area gives the same CBR value as the location
referred to in the subgrade material test results, due to the lack of accurate data, and the
difficulty of visiting the site.
