attract dead skin cells, oil and environmental pollutants. Bathing
and washing with jewellery on will clog the spaces around
stones and cause a soap lm, which will dull stones and metal. - Swimming and sunbathing
Both sea and salt water can tarnish jewellery. Worse than that,
when getting into cold water your ngers can shrink temporarily
and rings can so easily slip o without you noticing. Chlorinated
water can react with the metal causing a colour change too.
Beware of sunscreens which get into the links of chains and
stone settings making them dull and able to attract dirt. Sand is
abrasive, so soft metals will scratch easily. - Perfume and make up
Cosmetics are a mix of chemicals and oils. Spray perfume
before putting on jewellery and avoid perfumes and make up on
areas where you are planning on wearing jewellery.
