What you will need: double boiler, measuring cups, mesh strainer,
rubber spatula, 8-ounce bottle (pump top optional), funnel
- To Make: Start the double boiler on medium heat. Once it reaches a boil,
reduce heat to simmer. Break up the cinnamon sticks and place in the top
of the double boiler along with the cloves and ginger. Cover the spices
with the jojoba, olive, almond, and coconut oils and cover. Simmer on
low heat for at least an hour, stirring occasionally. To preserve the
beneficial botanicals, do not overheat. Remove from heat, take the top
pan off the double boiler, and let cool. Strain the spices from the oil and
use the funnel to pour the oil into an 8-ounce Mason jar or bottle. Pierce
the vitamin E capsules and squeeze the liquid out into the bottle,
discarding the gel caps. Add the essential oil, cap tightly, and shake to
blend. - To Store: Label with contents and expiration date. Will keep for up to a
year. Store away from heat and out of direct sunlight. - To Use: Use as an all-over massage oil. You may also use this as a body
oil by applying to dry skin as desired.
