- Rainforest Elixir Mask (see Chapter 3): Directly after the facial steam,
when your pores are clean and open, is the perfect time for a facial mask.
Prepare the mask so it’s ready and waiting for you when you’re done
with the steam. Splash your face with warm water to remove the sweat
and toxins from the steam, pat dry, and apply the mask. The Rainforest
Elixir Mask is full of superfoods and medicinal plants just packed with
vital nutrients for your skin. Refrigerate the mask for an added sensory
experience, and follow the mask directions from the recipe. - Rooibos Rose Toner (see Chapter 2): Using a facial toner is especially
important after performing a steam and a mask. You’ve just opened your
pores and cleaned them out, and now it’s time to close those pores so the
gunk can’t get back in. Saturate a cotton ball with toner and gently wipe
your face in an upward and outward direction. You can use the Rooibos
Rose Toner, Old-Fashioned Rosewater (see Chapter 7), coconut water, or
your favorite toner. - Vital Facial Moisturizer (see Chapter 2): After an intensive facial, you
want to use a mild, ultra-nourishing moisturizer high in antioxidants to
soothe, hydrate, and protect the skin. In the four previous steps you have
thoroughly cleaned and exfoliated; steamed out embedded toxins, dirt,
and clogged pores; reset the pH balance; and closed your pores. This
final layer of moisturizer gives a solid dose of botanical healing, like the
icing on the cake. Your skin is primed to absorb high amounts of
beneficial nutrients. A moisturizer calms any irritation and restores the
perfect balance of moisture to your skin, creating a protective barrier to
lock in the benefits from your home spa facial. Use the Vital Facial
Moisturizer or your favorite moisturizer.
Now that you’ve had your facial, you are beautifully content, relaxed in mind
and body, smiling at your dewy, radiant, and lovely face in the mirror. You are
so beautiful.
