sell. There was a converted shipping
container around the corner where
we’d hang out when we got tired of
the wall. It had a pay phone
installed inside that we’d use to call
people. When things were slow
we’d wander back and forth
between the container and the wall,
talking and hanging out with the
other people with nothing to do in
the middle of the day. We’d talk to
drug dealers, talk to gangsters.
Every now and then the cops would
come crashing through. A day in the
life of the hood. Next day, same
thing.
