  1. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons butter in a large
    nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. When the
    foaming subsides, add the bread cubes and cook, tossing
    frequently, until golden brown on all sides, about 6
    minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  2. Serve the soup garnished with the croutons.
