ROAD TRIPPIN’ ON NOTHIN’ BUT WENDY’S

After K-Con we embarked on an epic road trip across the Northern part
of America known as the United States, or U-Stat for short. Our
friends, Joel and Young, were in LA during that period and agreed to
come with us to help with the driving and manage all of our top hats.
The road trip was going to be very long, because it turned out that U-
Stat is really quite big. We decorated our rental car beautifully with
Korean flags and hit the open road. We had supplies, a car of some
sort, and 6000km of exciting experiences ahead of us. Our plan was
to drive from LA to New York (these are both cities in U-Stat) in ten
days. I was glad to go on a road trip with the boys, but I was also so
unbearably sad that I had had to leave Gabie and LA so soon. Already,
I couldn’t quite picture her face anymore, the memories were blurring,
excepting the chimeck swan which was blazoned in my memory and I
clung to it like Tarzan to a vine. I was preoccupied with the thought
that I might never see Gabie again on this side of the grave. I really
wanted to see her while we were both still alive! While the boys took
turns driving and navigating, I eagerly texted Gabie about every 30
seconds.
“I thought you didn’t believe in fairytale love stories,” said Ollie,
“When have I ever said that?” I replied, askance.
“I dunno, like, the first line of Chapter 1?” Ollie was looking at me
with wild eyes like a wild thing. I could tell he was bugged by my
texting. He wanted me to turn keyboard clicks off but I just didn’t have
time to go through the rigmarole of it.

Ollie was in charge of accommodation and I was in charge of finding
places to eat delicious meals. The following day, we got hungry, but I
had been so preoccupied with texting Gabie that I had forgotten to
search for a restaurant.
“Josh! We gave you one job! Just one job!” Ollie said, disgruntled.
