Chapter 5
-Someone Knocks- “It is five o’clock in the morning,who the hell is at my door?” I
opened it and it was James. “Come in.” I say withoutthinking. “How do you know where
I live?” I inquired. He says, “ I asked ya girl, Karesha.” Which would make sense if she
was anywhere to be found. But I don't want him toknow that I know he’s lying. “So.......”
I say with a sigh. “Oh yeah, I came here to talk abouta girl named Lizzie.” James says.
He is coming in here dropping a lot of bombs thatI was not prepared for. “What about
her?” I say instead of hyperventilating. He proceedsto tell his story about working with
her. I tell him that I've only met her once. “Sheis in trouble, and only you can help her. I
should've just led with that but I know you would’velied about knowing her.” He states
and is correct. “The note?” i interrogate “Why wasit given to me?” His face looks
unsure but his words sound like he is positive. “Becauseyou were the only one with
nothing to lose that day.” James explains. “I'm notfollowing, nor do I know if I even want
to help her.” I say in a bitchy way. James turns aroundand heads for the door. He then
turns back and says, “Goodluck.” I sense some tensionbetween him and the Lizzie
situation so I’ll for sure stay out of it. But, thatdoesn't mean I can't play with a toy. “Wait,
fine I'll help you. What's your number in case anythingcomes up?” I say sneakily. He
caught onto my game too. We exchange numbers, thenhe leaves. I can finally get
ready. I have to fix my wig, do my make, get dressed,eat , and then head to set. Today
I'm wearing all red. I have on a skirt with a croptop and a headband. And my shoes are
niqane
