Chapter one
I'm Lora. The ugliest girl in my town. I have hellamirrors in my house so I get
reminded constantly. I’m usually alone at home, inpublic, and anywhere that involves
being seen with someone. I honestly dont feel ugly,and I don't think of myself as ugly.
But, hey the public loves it. Today I am going onset to audition for an ugly, mean janitor.
Let's see how this goes. “Actor ‘331’, you're up next.”says Ms.Lady. She is a famous
movie producer’s manager. I go into the auditioningroom and see Mr.Sir standing there.
Beside him is movie star, Mr.Clean. I have to keepmy cool. So to myself I chant, “You
better kill it, you better kill it!”. Here I go. “Whatgood is a person if they have no heart?
(Beat). How can a girl like you, anyone, be so selfish.I have worked my ass off for years
in this school and you can't respect that enough tothrow your own trash away. Well
that's it, I quit. You and your rude friends go findsomeone else to keep this school
intact. Thank you.” I say with excitement. They allexchange looks then turn away from
me. Normally I'd be worried, but it's Mr.Clean, Whateverhe has to say it must be good.
They turn towards me. “What role were you auditioningfor?” he doesnt let me answer.
“I would like you to try out for the lead. And beforeyou get any ideas, you are Lead
material.” he finishes. I start, “Wow. I -um, yeahI would love to try out for the-” Mr.Sir
cuts me off and says, “NEXT!”. Well atleast i wasable to speak to my idol. I go home
and find a great monologue to recite tomorrow, forthe lead role casting. The next day: I
walk into the auditioning setting and there are onlya few of us. Let's just say we all have
something in common. Ms.Lady comes in and tells us,“My client would like to see all of
you in his office.”. Her client is Mr.Clean. She ishis manager. We all step in, in question.
He proceeds on the telephone until she asks him toget off. “Right! Here's the thing, all
