found my most confident voice, and explained that I have
two young children who are bombarded with images of
cupcakes, candy, juice boxes, and sugary cereals, all in fake
bright colors to capture their attention. So to keep my kids
from rebelling and pleading for that junk, I offer them safe
treats at home. My son Micah even asks if certain foods
contain sugar or gluten and would cause his belly to hurt,
and I say yes. Then he asks if we have cupcakes at home
that are healthy, and I either say yes or suggest that we bake
some together. He gladly chooses the safe treat. He doesn’t
have celiac disease, but sugar and grains make him feel ill,
which often happens to my clients when they consume
sugar or starch after months of avoiding them.


I also love to entertain, and that includes serving desserts
that we all can enjoy. I even love to throw parties for dolls!
Micah has a doll that he named Libby, and he loves her very
much. He recently told me that Libby’s birthday was in
three days. So we had keto cake and keto ice cream to
celebrate!
