3 Rosie notices an advertisement in the window of Best Bargains Store which states, ‘All
MP3 players at £10 to the first twenty customers on Monday morning.’ Rosie queues all
night on Sunday and is customer number seven in the queue on Monday morning.When
she enters the store and selects her MP3 player, she is told that the management has
decided to end the promotion.
While in Best Bargains Store, Rosie buys a pair of shoes.The label on the shoes states
the price to be £25, but the cashier,Tom, tells her that the shoes are wrongly priced and
that the correct price is £35. Rosie believes that she should be allowed to buy the shoes
for the advertised price.
Having finished her shopping, Rosie notices a wallet in the bushes at the exit of the
shop and returns it to Nick at the address which she finds in the wallet. On the way
home, she sees on a notice board a poster requesting the return of Nick’s lost wallet
and offering a reward of £50 to the finder. Rosie returns to Nick’s house to claim the
reward, but Nick tells Rosie that he is not going to pay her.

money which they may win.The friends prove to be lucky, and find a week later that they
have won £1,500 in the football pools competition. However, the football pools
organisers refuse to pay out due to low funds.
