Immunoprecipitate.Maximumprecipitationresultswhenbothreaction
partnersarepresentinanapproximatelyequivalentratio(Fig.2. 20 ).Inanti-
bodyexcess,orantigenexcess,theamountofprecipitateisconsiderablyre-
duced.


DoublediffusionaccordingtoOuchterlony.Thistechniqueallowsforaqua-
litativeevaluationofwhethercertainantibodiesorantigensarepresentor
not,plusdeterminationofthedegreeofrelationshipbetweenantibodies
andantigens.Italsoprovidesinformationonwhetherdifferentantigenicde-
