— Thecapsid,virus-codedproteinsenclosingthenucleicacidofthevirus
anddeterminingitsantigenicity;thecapsidcanhaveacubic(rotational),
helicalorcomplexsymmetryandismadeupofsubunitscalledcap-
somers.
— Insomecasesanenvelope(Fig. 7. 2 )thatsurroundsthecapsidandis
alwaysderivedfromcellularmembranes. &
