Oftenawomanis"takenover"bythepain-bodyat that
time. Ithasanextremelypowerful energetic chargethatcan
easily pull you into unconscious identification with it. You
are then activelypossessed byan energy fieldthat occupies
yourinnerspaceandpretendstobeyou—but,ofcourse,is
notyouatall.Itspeaksthroughyou,actsthroughyou,thinks
throughyou.It will createnegativesituations inyourlifeso
that it can feed on the energy. It wants more pain, in
whatever form. Ihavedescribed thisprocess already.It can
beviciousanddestructive.Itispurepain,pastpain—andit
isnotyou.
The number of women who are now approaching the
fullyconsciousstatealreadyexceedsthatofmenandwillbe
growingevenfasterintheyearstocome.Menmaycatchup
with them in the end,but for some considerable time there
will be agap betweentheconsciousnessof men andthatof
women. Women are regaining the function that is their
birthright and,therefore,comes tothem morenaturallythan
it doestomen: tobeabridgebetweenthemanifestedworld
and the Unmanifested, between physicality and spirit. Your
maintaskasa womannowistotransmute the pain-bodyso
that it no longer comes between you and your trueself, the
essence of who you are. Of course, you also have to deal
with the other obstacle to enlightenment, which is the
thinking mind, but the intense presence you generate when
dealing with the pain-body will also free you from
identificationwiththemind.
Thefirstthingtorememberisthis:Aslongasyoumake
an identityfor yourself out of the pain, you cannot become
freeofit.Aslongaspartof yoursenseofselfisinvestedin
your emotional pain, you will unconsciously resist or
sabotageeveryattemptthatyoumaketohealthatpain.Why?
Quite simply becauseyou want to keepyourself intact, and
the pain has become an essential part of you. This is an
unconscious process, andthe only waytoovercome it is to
makeitconscious.
