won’t hold a charge anymore? Well it’s time to call
upon KonMari! Named after Japanese declutter-
ing expert Marie Kondo, this method of cleaning
encourages you to go through your belongings by category
instead of room, so gather up all your devices and accesso-
ries! Sorting through your tech clutter is half the battle. For the
second half, these apps and accessories can help you. You’ll
be able to unload what you don’t want, while smartly storing
what you keep.

Sell Your Old Tech


There are multiple apps for selling items online, even to
local buyers, but we’ll start with apps that connect you with
more far-fl ung customers. Ebay (free), the global buy and
sell app, is perfect for fi nding a buyer for just about anything
you have on hand. Take a few photos and describe your
items as well as you can, and you can get piles of tech out
of your house in no time! This includes tech that may not be
in working condition anymore. For example, I’ve sold some
things described as “for parts” and “not working” which were
snatched up by people wanting to tinker on a budget.

Did you know Apple has a trade-in program for its prod-
ucts? Check out Apple Trade In and receive a free mailer or
label to ship your eligible products for either credit on your
next purchase or an Apple Store Gift Card. Even if your item
isn’t worth anything, Apple will recycle it at no charge. This
program is also available at any Apple Store, but it’s so much
easier to recycle from home in your pajamas, right?
If you have non-Apple hardware to unload, check out your
local Goodwill thrift store. Goodwill will sell anything that’s still
functional and has partnered with Dell to dismantle and recy-
