cle broken systems, components, and
accessories. Old electronics contain toxic
materials like lead, cadmium, and arsenic,
so it’s vital that you don’t throw these
items away with regular household trash.
These next apps will get you in touch
with local buyers, but that doesn’t mean
you’ll have to meet in person if you don’t
want to. Being able to set a curb alert is my
favorite feature of local buy and sell apps.
To set a curb alert, I simply put things I was
planning on donating out on the curb, post
a nearby street intersection and time I’ll leave the items out, and
people who’ve seen the post can come grab the goods without
us interacting! Of course, this only works with free things, but it
saves me time and some gas money. If you’re trying to unload
something bulky like a printer, posting a curb alert on any of the
following apps can save you some back pain, too!

Letgo (free) and OfferUp (free) display posts in a way that
reminds me of Pinterest; you’ll have to tap the photo to see
any description the seller provided. Letgo can make an esti-
mate on how much you could sell your item for and will open
a chat when a potential buyer wants to purchase or know
more about the product. OfferUp provides a shipping option
for what you sell, and you can share the listings you create
within the app on Facebook, too.

Organize Your Electronics

Now that you’ve cleared out your clutter, let’s talk gear for
keeping the tech and accessories you need nice and neat.
With these you won’t end up with a jammed junk drawer or
tangled tumbleweed of cables.

If you’d like to
have your chargers,
cables, and other
accessories sepa-
rated and visible,
check out Vaultz
Mesh Cord Bags.
A four pack is only
$9.99 and comes
in four different
sizes and colors.
The bags also have
plastic clips, so you
can attach them to
your backpack, and
keep them right
where you want
them.
