OutdoorAware 2021 report, thefindings detailing how the
pandemic has impacted outdoors activity across the UK.

THE FAMILYOF MOUNTAINEER


Martin Moran have setup a charitable
foundation in his memory. The Martin
Moran Foundation, with the assistance of
teachers and leaders from schools and
organisations across the UK, will offer
fully funded places on outdoor activity
programmes to anyyoung adult aged
16-18 who has a passion forthe mountains
but may not havethe support and
financial resources to access them.
The Foundation will provide
everythingfrom travel and
accommodation to clothing, boots and
gear required for a safe and enjoyable day
of climbing. These items are gied to the
participants at the end of the programme
to encourage them to continue pursuing
an active outdoors lifestyle and hone their
passion for the mountain.
The seven-day programmes will be
held in the Scottish Highlands and focus
on climbing, mountain adventure and
general outdoors skill-building.
Martin Moran was an influential
mountaineer,his passion for adventure
encouraging manyto pickup some boots
and get out onto the hills. In 1984, Martin
became the first person to conquer all 277
Munros in asingle winter journey.
Toraise funds for the foundation, its
first sponsored challenge will take place
this year.Alex Moran and MikeCoppock
will take on the first-ever Munros
triathlon this summer,with all 300km
and 7 000m of ascent being completed
by running, cycling andswimming
through the dramatic landscape of the
North-West Highlands
