walk E on Queen Street and
turn R at Chequer’s Quay after
Lord Raglan pub. Go through
gate and follow path on W side
of Slipper Mill Pond. Cross dam
and turn R to follow right of way
through marina to Mill Quay.
Go L at the end and immediately
R past deckhouses.

Look for stile on L after
150 m,crossfieldtoanother
stile, cross lane and takenarrow
path. Join track after 600m and
continue ahead to meet the shore
by end of a lane.

A bustling modern

marina was the gatewayto

the coast anda series of wild

marshes and pebbly strands.

Curlews echoed over the

shining silton either side of

Nutbourne Channeland a

little egret was a Persil-white

sentinel at thehead of a

narrow tributary. Bright

Keep ahead, with sea on R,
and follow path around head
of Nutbourne Channel to Chidham
Point. Continue S towards Cobnor
Point (note: some high tides
around the Point can make the
shoreline impassable).

Join path between sea and
new lagoons, continue over
a couple of bridges and turn L at
fingerpost.Followsignsthrough
sailing club and return to shoreline
path. Pass more pools and lagoons
on L, and continue N towards
houses and leavecoast on path
between hedges.

Walk along lane, go R at

junction after 300m and

take steps on R opposite pond.

Keep on the embankment and

creek side path to meet the A259.

turn R on Broad Road
to Nutbourne station for a
five-minutetrainrideback
to Emsworth.
