(Animalwelfare) #1

Guardian, 2020). While this decision is encouraging, activists and
veterinarians must continue to speak out against animal welfare
infringements in all aspects of animal production.

Veterinarians are responsible for both animal and human health and
possess the knowledge and training necessary to identify animal welfare
abuses and the signs of disease that may be associated with them. In our role
as veterinary students, we must continue to educate ourselves on the
relationship between animal welfare, animal health, and human health, and
use our training to advocate for global health.
