Using a SPLOM to See Relationships
To get a sense of the relationships among the variables for the male faculty,
it is a good idea to compute a correlation matrix and plot the corresponding
scatter plot matrix.
To create the SPLOM:
1 Click Multi-variable Charts from the StatPlus menu and then click
Scatterplot Matrix.
2 Click the Data Values button, click the Use Range References
option button, and select the range B1:F45. Click OK.
3 Click the Output button, click the New Worksheet option button,
and type Male SPLOM in the accompanying text box. Click OK.
4 Click OK to start generating the scatter plot matrix. See Figure 9-12
for the completed SPLOM.
