The fi gure below shows the default layout view in a desktop web browser. Because of the

decision to use a fi xed-width CSS layout, the page will render predictably across diff erent

monitor resolutions. The designer accepts that in larger monitors, there will be more space

on either side of the content, and in smaller monitors, the content may be cropped.
