activatethehornofthecar.Laterelectronicconnectionscametothepicturethatwasmade
withthehelpofaslipringandlaterthehornswitchthatwaspresentrightinsidethewheelrim.
In 1966 Fordcompanyintroducedacarthathadanoptionofpilotcontrolonthewheel.Itwas
anearlierversionofpilotcontrolbyclickingitthespeedofthecarismaintainedandthemode
couldberemovedbyapplyingbrakes.Themodelwasnamedthunderbirdandassoonasthe
brakeswereappliedthelightsilluminated.LatertheLincolncaralsoadoptedthisfeatureinits
car.Overtheyearsthebuttonskeptonaddingonthesteeringwheelsmakingitmoreandmore
complexlikeforreceivingcalls,tovolumeupordown,tochangethecarmodes,forvoice
control and navigation, for changing the radio stationsor files etc.
