The 2021 Apple Design Awards winners
have been announcedEach year, the Apple Design awards highlight the most
brilliant apps on Apple’s App Store. Six new categories were
added this year, including Inclusivity, Delight and Fun, and
Interaction. “This year’s Apple Design Award winners have redefined
what we’ve come to expect from a great app experience, and we
congratulate them on a well-deserved win,” said Apple’s Susan Prescott.
Winners this year included Voice Dream Reader, a text-to-speech app
that reads text aloud from virtually any source. The game HoloVista,
which supports a wide variety of accessibility features also won in the
Inclusivity category. Another game, Pok Pok Playroom, won in the
Delight and Fun category, as did
Little Orpheus, a platform game
with excellent storytelling. In
the Interaction category, the app
CARROT Weather brought humour
and unique visuals to the weather
apps genre, while Bird Alone
combined gestures, haptics, parallax
