Step-by-step Create a high-res print

4

Choose a frame
Scrub the playhead to seven seconds.
Here, the trees have just cleared the top of
the castle. The branches create a frame for
the building and add foreground interest.

5

Improve composition
To remove the photographer’s shadow,
click the Cropping icon. Choose ‘Crop to
Fill’. Drag the corner handles to lose the
head. Drag inside the crop window frame.

6

Colour and tone
To improve flat contrast, click the Color
correction icon. Drag the black contrast
slider left to darken shadows and lighten
highlights. Increasethe Saturation slider.

1

Go 4K
Go to your iPhone’s Settings app and tap
on ‘Camera’. Tap ‘RecordVideo’. Choose
one of the 4K options, like 4K at 25 fps. This
gives you 25 still frames per second.

2

Import assets
In Projects, click ‘+ Create New’.
Choose ‘Movie’. This takes you to My Media.
Click ‘Import Media’, browse to our supplied
‘4K Clip.mov’, and click ‘Import Selected’.

3

Check size
Drag the clip into the timeline. By default,
the project’s resolution is defined by the first
clip you add to the timeline. Click ‘Settings’.
Here, you’ll see that the setting is indeed 4K.

7

Export a still
Now that the chosen frame is looking
its best, go to File>Share>Image. Label the
image ‘Train Still’. It will automatically be
saved in a shareable JPEG image format.

8

Add a still
Import our suppliedphoto,‘Castle.jpg’.
Drag it to the timeline. iMovie adds a zoom
to the still image to make it more interesting
to look at. You can modify the motion.

9

Modify motion
Click the Cropping icon above the
viewer. Click the Ken Burns button. Re-size
and re-frame the End window so the camera
zooms and pans to get closer to the castle.
