Create your own digital clock

This may sound strange, but turning your iPad into a digital clock can add some much-needed modernism to your living
room or kitchen. If you are careful with how you manage the power (with regards to battery health), you can create a
stunning effect that works as a useful and aesthetically pleasing object.

Present your family history

How many photos are stored on your iPhone? Hundreds? Thousands? Well, no matter how many there are, you can use your
home improvement project to do something special with your favourites. It will involve printing them, which may feel alien these
days, but the end result could become the main focus of your new and improved living room...

1

Fit the frame
Create a new album in Photos, and
decide which images you want to use for a
new family frame. Take note of the number of
landscape and portrait slots in the frame.

2

Add some creativity
Color Splash is a superb app for quickly
adding touches of colour to your images. It
makes each photo black and white instantly –
ready for you to make your mark.

3

Enjoy your work
If you do not own a printer, most printing
stores will print multiple photos very cheaply.
The end result could surprise you,and become
a special addition to your home.

Just one app
The Clocks: Alarm, World
Clock – is a versatile option
that offers clean and large
clock faces on your iPad,
with the ability to use extra
functions and tomanage the
look in a variety of ways.

See the world
Tapping this icon lets you
view up to six time zones at
one time, and this can add a
sense of technical practicality
to any mantlepiece or shelf.
The effectis surprisingly
impressive on a larger iPad.

Save your screen
Within Settings you can
enable ‘Burn-in Protection’,
which will cycle the clock faces
over set periods of time.
This is like a slow moving
screensaver that should help
to save your screen from
permanent damage.

Mechanicalor quartz
This icon highlights the level of
detail that the developer has
put into the app, because you
can switch between mechanical
(sweeping seconds hand) to quartz
(tickingseconds hand) with just one
tap. It’s a pleasing extra touch.
