Please can you tell me how to replace the boring default
folder icons on my Mac with my own? Sabine Tadaro
1
Copy the icon
Open the image that you
would like to use for your new
folder icon, then press cmd+A
to highlight it. Now, press
cmd+C to copy the image and
then turn your attention to the
folder you want to edit.
2
Open info
Click to highlight the folder
and then press cmd+I to ‘Get
Info’. This will open the folder’s
info box whereby you can add
tags, comments and sharing
permissions. Click on the small
thumbnail icon in the top-left.
3
Paste icon
Now, press cmd+V
and you will paste the new
icon over the old one. Once
done, close the info box and
your new icon will be saved.
Highlight the icon in ‘Get Info’
and press delete to remove it.

App Switcher
This refers to a feature in

the App Switcher, you can
swipe up to ‘flick away’
apps you don’t need to run
to save battery power.

Picture in Picture
When watching a video in
Safari, Picture in Picture
mode transfers the video
to its own separate viewing
window, meaning you
don’t have to watch it in
the web page. You can
manually drag the corners
to increase the size of this
window, and drag it to
various snap-to positions
on your desktop.
