Centre Stage uses the 12MP front camera to
follow you around the room on video calls
music, by helping them power through
their projects. Otherwise, you likely
won’t appreciate having this much power
on tap unless you’re intensively gaming,
using particularly power-hungry apps,
or pushing the tablet to its multitasking
limits. This will load apps like YouTube,
Netflix and your email faster than ever
before, but in most cases the difference is
negligible, and you’ll only really notice the
hike when powering up the some of the
App Store’s most intensive experiences.

Other upgrades are perhaps less
important, but there are a few other
noteworthy tweaks. There’s a higher-
capacity storage variant at 2TB, a new
Centre Stage camera feature that keeps
you in the frame on all of your video calls,
and Thunderbolt 4 support in the USB-C
slot. These are all great additions, but
they’re overshadowed by the display and
chipset’s game-changing upgrades.
The battery life is very decent – in our
testing we found that the tablet would last
for around ten hours on a full charge. Your
mileage will obviously vary depending on
what you’re doing, but this iPad provides
a solid battery performance that shouldn’t
disappoint anybody.
All of this comes at a very high price, of
course, and you’ll likely not be shocked to
learn that this is Apple’s most expensive
tablet ever. It starts at £999, with the price
increasing to £1, 999 for the 2 TB model –
and you’ll have to pay more again for the
version with cellular connectivity.
The iPad Pro 2021 is a truly phenomenal
machine that is undoubtedly the best that
money can buy. But do you need it? This iPad features a 12MP rear shooter and
10MP ultrawide camera...
The massive surge in power and
the large, crisp display make this a
must for creative types, but more an
unnecessary extravagance for those
of us who just like to watch stuff.
