Whilethereasonforthismorerigid
stipulationonGoogle’spartis unclear,if
this changemakesit into the final CDD,
affecteduserswon’thavetoworryabout
unpickingscreenshotsfromthecloud-
storedpictures,if theydidn’twantthem
theretobeginwith.
DESSERTNAME
Sadly,Googlehaslongsinceabandoned
the officialdessertnamesfor Android
versions,butthecompanydoesstill
usethosenamesinternally– Android
11 wasunofficially known as Red Velvet
Cake, for example.
Android 12 is ‘S’, and XDA
Developers claims that this stands for
‘SnowCone’– prettydisappointing
whenthey had shortbread, s’more and
sherbet sitting right there.
