Orixás of birth
To find your birth Orixá you must know the day of the week you were
born Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or
Sunday. After and go to the ORIXAS OF YOUR DAY page and look for
your Orixá.
If you do not know the day of the week, proceed as follows ...
Tó find out who is your ‘head’ Orixa use the TABLE. Find the
year in which you were born in the year column, and find
the month in which you were born in the month column.
Use the number at the intersection of these columns and add
it to the day of your birthday. Take this resulting number to
the DAYS OF THE WEEK table to see which day of the week
you were born. Look in the ORIX AS’ DAY table to find out
ẃ hich Orixas are yours!
Example:
A person born on September 26, 1965 : Find year 65 in the
year column, and find month 9 (September), in the month
column —> go to where the two lines intersect, in this case
3. Add this number (3) to your birthday number (in this
case 2 6), which gives you 29. Go to the table of Days of the
Week where you will see that 29 is a Sunday. Finally go to
the Orixas’ Table where you will see that those born on
Sundays are children of Nanan, Ibeji and Oxalá.
