4.6 The Small Intestine Channel System – Hand taiyang(shou tai yang jing luo)

Location

2 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 7th

thoracic vertebra.

How to find

For locating the 7th cervical vertebra, see ➞3.4.

Located on the same level is ➞Du-14below the spinous process

of the 7th cervical vertebra. Locate S.I.-15by measuring 2 cun

in a lateral direction.

Needling

0.5–1 cun vertically or obliquely in a medial direction. Caution:

Pneumothorax.

Actions/Indications

● Opens the channel

Special features

Trigger point on the levator scapulae muscle, effective point for

disorders of the cervicodorsal area.
