Broadcasting
It takes many people behind the scenes at radio and television stations to make
what we see and hear over the airwaves possible. There are a wide
variety of job opportunities in broadcasting for talented
producers, directors, writers, editors, audio and video
engineers, lighting technicians, and camera operators.
These jobs require skills in business and marketing,
programming and scheduling, operating electronic
equipment, and the mathematical ability to analyze ratings
and data.
In Problem 41of Study Set 8.5, you will see how a television
producer determines the amount of commercial time and
program time he should schedule for a 30-minute time slot.
