SUPER STOPPERMost photographers shooting land or seascapes would choose to work at either end ofthe day when the light is soft. This is also generally the time when the addition of a 6 or 10stopfi lter will give the very long exposures necessary to give the effect of smooth waterand cloud motion. But sometimes things don’t work out that way. It might be a question of tide or timing,of weather or circumstance, or even a combination of these factors, but sometimesyou need to be able to shoot in broad daylight, or even bright sunlight, and still achievethose very long exposures. These are the conditions for which the 15 stop Super Stopperhas been designed.I arrived at this location, in Monterey, California, at three in the afternoon, really just fora look as although the sky was quite overcast, conditions were incredibly bright. I thennoticed the cloud formation above the tree which seemed to be leading the eye towardit, and the current leading in from the bottom right hand corner, andrealised quickly that, despite the bright light, this was something that might not happen again. The shutter speedwithoutfi ltration was 1/250th of a second. With a 10 stop Big Stopper that gave me 4seconds, but with the 15 Stop Super Stopper I was able to achieve this photograph withan exposure time of 2 minutes.Jonathan Chritchleyhttp://www.jonathanchritchley.com http://www.leefilters.comSuper Stopper### NEWNikon D810, Zeiss 21mm Distagon,F11 at 2 minutes,10 0 ISO.
