Love Never Fails

(Ben Green) #1

I said, "I'm so glad he had enough sense
to get out of that mess."
She began to cry. She said, "I love my
children."
I said, "No, you don't. Look at that poor
girl on the piano. Dear Lord, she can play
all right—she has musical ability—but
when you look at her she'll look down as if
something's wrong with her. You kept her
close to you all of her life. She never had a
friend. She never spent one night away from
home. You never let her out of your sight.
She ought to be out on her own."
I added, "Instead of praying he'll come
back, I'm going to pray that she'll leave."
"Oh, I love my children," the woman
said.
"I know it," I said. "You love them with
natural love. You're saved. Why don't you
start loving them with the love of God? If
you'd love them with the love of God, you'd
be glad for them to leave home. They're old
enough to go."
