choreographer too, giving the model
a defined role in the setting and
creating a duet between the
model and the environment.

Pose and perspective

the model’s pose, and also the

photographer’s position, contribute

to the feeling of connection with

a location. in the image on the left

i am shooting from below as the

model stretches up and looks upward

and outward into the huge sky. in the

image above, the girl gazing out

across the water is positioned to the

side of the frame. this emphasizes

the expanse of water and also allows

us to share the view with her.
