The material is determined by the following:

1.Sketching the floor joists without an opening (Fig-

ure 13.16).

2. Locating the proposed opening on the floor joist sketch
   (Figure 13.17).


3. Sketching what header and trimmer pieces are required and
   how the cut pieces of the joist may be used as headers and
   trimmers (Figure 13.18).
