transistors causes an increase in the voltage drop across resistor R1. This
increased voltage drop across R1 will counterbalance the rise in output
voltage. Thus, the DC output voltage will remain stabilized. Decreases in
DC output voltage would cause the circuit action to reverse. In addition,
integrated circuit voltage regulators are now used extensively in power sup-
plies that convert AC to DC.
