tomethatthemistakecliniciansmakeinthesesituations
is that theysee their task as just supplying cognitive
information—hard, cold facts and descriptions. They
wanttobeDr.Informative.Butit’sthemeaningbehind
theinformationthatpeoplearelookingformorethanthe
facts.Thebestwaytoconveymeaningistotellpeople
whattheinformationmeanstoyouyourself,hesaid.And
he gave me three words to use to do that.
