Within 30 feet of the house, select
deciduous shrubs that grow to a height
of less than 2 feet.
Select shrubs that grow to a height of less than 2 feet
at maturity or that can be maintained at this height
through pruning. Use taller deciduous shrubs sparingly as
specimens within 30 feet of the house. Or, use them more
extensively outside this area.
