13 Peculiar Anointings..................................................................................


If we're not careful, those of us in what is called the "faith
ministry" get rather spoiled, wanting only one type of ministry.
We need all types of ministry. We need to learn to appreciate all
types of ministry.
Pastors need to expose their people to all types of ministries,
realizing that God uses people where they are, and recognizing
and appreciating the anointing that is upon them.
I'm convinced God is going to use some people in peculiar
ways in these days, but they first must be sure the unction or
anointing is there. If it gets the job done, praise God for it. That's
what counts. Recognize it and praise God for it, wherever it is.
When I first came into Full Gospel circles, a man with a
peculiar anointing came to our church. I had never seen anything
like his ministry. Because it didn't "fit" me, I was disgusted.
The first time I saw him, I thought, Oh, my! I hid my face, I
was so embarrassed. I said, "O dear God, it's time to give the
altar service, and here the man's dancing. Nobody will get
saved!"
Yet when he gave the altar call, people started coming down
every aisle to get saved. I sat there and wept, saying, "Lord,
forgive me. O my God, forgive me!"
When I became a pastor, I invited Old Dad Smith to hold me
a meeting in every church I ever pastored but one. As a matter of
fact, I wasn't in a church very long before I would have him
come.
This fellow was strictly an evangelist. He just preached the
Good News that Jesus saves. That's about as far as he went.
