Understanding the Anointing
But I've never had the anointing that strong again in these past
13 years. It's been close a time or two, but it took me two hours
to get back to the natural that time.
I don't know if you've had any experience in the Spirit or
not, but I've had a lot of experience, and I'll be perfectly honest
with you: When that anointing comes, you almost get afraid
from the natural standpoint, because you're afraid you can't get
back.
In August 1982, the anointing came on me so strong out at
Fred Price's church, Crenshaw Christian Center, in Inglewood,
California, that I couldn't say a word in English, and I couldn't
get back. I kept thinking during that experience, I'm not going to
get back. I'm so far out, I can't get back!
"What do you mean 'get back'?" some will ask.
I know exactly what happened to Enoch. He got out in the
realm of the Spirit, and he couldn't get back. I want to get back,
so I don't get out too far.
We are exploring today in the realm of the Spirit, learning
some things we should have known yesterday.
In modern times, men have explored outer space. But they
didn't get to the moon the first time; they barely got out of the
hold of gravity and over into that other realm at first.
Why? Because they didn't know what was out there. They
didn't know the rules and laws that regulate space. They didn't
know if they could get back or not! So they barely went out at
first, looked around, and then went a little farther and a little
farther each time. Finally they went all the way to the moon and
walked on it.
I think there's a parallel here, because Daniel, years ago,
prophesied about these last days. He said, "Many shall run to
and fro, and knowledge shall be increased" (Dan. 12:4).
Knowledge has been increased. Some of us have been out
there a little on the edge of the Spirit, but we don't get out too
far.
