EXERCISE OBJECTIVE
When you have completed this exercise, you will be able to use loop equations for a
series/parallel circuit. You will verify your results by measuring voltage drops and calculating
equations.
DISCUSSION
- To write a loop equation, begin at a starting point, go around the loop and record the
voltages. Designate the polarity of the voltages based on which terminal is encountered first. - Loop equations satisfy Kirchhoff’s voltage law.
- There can be more than one loop in a circuit.
